History

Shri Shravannath Math Jawaharlal Nehru College, popularly known as S.M.J.N.(P.G.) COLLEGE, was established in 1960 by the Panchayati Akhara Shri Niranjani.  The college was founded by late Shri 108 Mahant Mahadeva Nath ji of Shri Shravannath Math under the aegis of the Panchayati Akhara Shri Niranjani. S.M.J.N. (P.G.) College is oldest and most reputed educational institute of Haridwar District of Uttarakhand. The college is managed by the Panchayati Akhara Shri Niranjani. The college was initially affiliated to the Agra  University, Agra. In 1967, the affiliation was transferred to the Meerut University, Meerut (presently, C.C.S. University, Meerut). With the formation of Uttaranchal (presently Uttarakhand) State, the college was affiliated in November 2000 to the HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar-Garhwal (presently known as HNB Garhwal Central University, Srinagar Garhwal).

 

From the coming session 2021-22 the college has been affiliated to Shri Dev Suman Uttarakhand State University, Tehri - Garhwal (Uttarakhand) and the first year students are the part of the State University.
